Denize Bıraksam
Göksel (b. 1971) is a Turkish songwriter and singer.
Born Göksel Demirpençe in Istanbul on 25th November 1971, in 1988 she applied to Boğaziçi University to study philosophy. However, she quit her studies to become a professional artist. She started to take private singing lessons and began singing for various orchestras. For two years she was a backing singer for Sezen Aksu and Sertab Erener.
In 1997 her first album, Yollar (Roads), was released, of which the first single, "Sabır" (Patience), became a big hit. She released her second album, Körebe (Blind Man's Bluff), in 2001. Its most successful single was "Depresyondayım" (I'm Depressed).
Her third album was Söz Ver (Promise), released in 2003. That year Göksel gave a successful concert in Babylon with a Greek group, Omega Vibes. In 2005 Göksel released Arka Bahçem (My Backyard). The album's biggest hit was "Bi Seni Konuşurum" (I'm Only Talking about You).
Göksel is also featured on the album of Turkish rock band maNga; their duet called "Dursun Zaman" (Time Should Stop) appears on the soundtrack of the film Sınav.
Göksel released five more albums: Ay'da Yürüdüm (2007), Mektubumu Buldun mu? (2009), Hayat Rüya Gibi (2010), Bende Bi' Aşk Var (2012), Sen Orda Yoksun (2015)
